Children's & Student Privacy

Effective September 5, 2026

Please note: This document is provided for general information and transparency. It is not legal advice, and it may be updated. CLG Technologies, LLC recommends reviewing it with qualified legal counsel for your specific situation.

Career Launch Group is built for learners from roughly 8th grade through adulthood. Because some of our users are minors, we take extra care with their information. This notice explains those practices and supplements our Privacy Policy.

1. Minimum age

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account or use the Service. The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without the required consent, we will delete it promptly.

2. Users ages 13–17 and parental involvement

If you are between 13 and 17, you may use the Service only with the involvement and permission of a parent or legal guardian, who accepts our Terms on your behalf.

A parent or guardian may review the minor's information, request corrections or deletion, and withdraw consent (which will end the minor's use of the Service) by contacting us at Support@careerlaunchgroup.com.

3. COPPA

The U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) applies to personal information collected online from children under 13. Because the Service is intended for users 13 and older, we do not knowingly collect information covered by COPPA. If a school or parent chooses to involve a child under 13, we would require verifiable parental (or, in a school context, authorized) consent before any collection, consistent with COPPA.

4. What the AI coach does and does not see

We deliberately limit the personal information the AI coach and tools receive:

  • Messages are automatically scrubbed of direct identifiers (like names, emails, and ID numbers) before they are stored or sent to the AI model, with an AI safety guardrail as an added backstop.
  • The coach operates within the student's own private session and is not given a central database of student identities.
  • Assessment uploads are processed into a privacy-scrubbed summary; the raw file is not retained by us.
  • The coach is scoped to career and education exploration and is instructed to avoid collecting sensitive personal information and to point to crisis resources (such as 988 in the U.S.) when appropriate.
  • Students (or their parents) can delete the student's coach memory and saved summaries at any time.

5. School and education contexts (FERPA)

If a school, district, or educator uses the Service with students, education records may be involved and laws such as the U.S. Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and state student-privacy laws may apply. In those cases, we act as a service provider / “school official” under the school's direction and use student data only to provide the Service — not to advertise to students or build non-educational profiles.

Schools remain responsible for obtaining any consents required under applicable law. Schools and parents may contact us to review, correct, or delete a student's information.

6. No targeted advertising to minors

We do not sell minors' personal information, we do not use it for targeted or behavioral advertising, and we do not build advertising profiles of students.

7. Parental / guardian rights

Parents and legal guardians may, by contacting us at Support@careerlaunchgroup.com:

  • review the personal information we have about their minor;
  • request that we correct or delete it;
  • refuse further collection or use of the minor's information; and
  • withdraw consent to the minor's use of the Service.
