Terms of Service

Effective September 5, 2026

Please note: This document is provided for general information and transparency. It is not legal advice, and it may be updated. CLG Technologies, LLC recommends reviewing it with qualified legal counsel for your specific situation.

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a legal agreement between you and CLG Technologies, LLC (“CLG,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), the operator of Career Launch Group, Base Camp, and related websites, applications, tools, and services (together, the “Service”).

By creating an account, subscribing, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Who may use the Service

The Service is designed for learners from approximately 8th grade through adulthood. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account or use the Service.

If you are under 18 (a “minor”), you may use the Service only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian, who agrees to be bound by these Terms on your behalf. A parent or guardian who creates or authorizes an account for a minor is responsible for that minor's use of the Service.

If you are using the Service on behalf of a school, district, or organization, you represent that you are authorized to bind that entity to these Terms.

2. Accounts and security

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. Authentication is handled through our identity provider; you agree to provide accurate information and to keep it current.

Notify us promptly at the contact address below if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization. We are not liable for losses arising from unauthorized use of your account.

3. Subscriptions, billing, and refunds

Certain features require a paid subscription. Payments are processed by our third-party payment processor (Stripe). We do not store your full payment-card details; they are handled by the processor under its own terms and security standards.

Subscriptions renew automatically for the applicable billing period unless canceled before the renewal date. You can cancel at any time; cancellation stops future charges and takes effect at the end of the current paid period. Unless required by law, fees already paid are non-refundable.

We may change prices or plan features prospectively. Where required by law, we will give notice before a change takes effect. Taxes may apply based on your location.

4. The AI coach and tools are not professional advice

The Service includes an AI “coach” and automated tools that generate suggestions about education and careers. This content is for general informational and educational purposes only.

It is NOT professional financial, legal, medical, mental-health, admissions, immigration, tax, or investment advice, and it is not a guarantee of any academic, admission, employment, salary, financial, or other outcome. AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date. Always verify important information and consult a qualified professional before making significant decisions.

If you are in crisis or may be a danger to yourself or others, contact your local emergency number or, in the U.S., call or text 988 (Suicide and Crisis Lifeline).

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms;
  • attempt to access accounts, data, or systems that are not yours, or probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service without authorization;
  • reverse engineer, scrape, or bulk-extract content except as expressly permitted;
  • upload malware or content that is unlawful, infringing, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, or that exploits or endangers minors;
  • misuse the AI features to generate prohibited content or to attempt to bypass safety guardrails;
  • resell, sublicense, or provide the Service to third parties except as expressly authorized; or
  • interfere with the integrity, performance, or availability of the Service.

6. Your content and uploads

You may submit information and upload materials (for example, assessment results). You retain ownership of content you submit. You grant CLG a limited license to host, process, and use that content solely to provide and improve the Service to you, consistent with our Privacy Policy.

You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to submit any content you provide, and that it does not violate the rights of others.

7. Intellectual property

The Service, including its course content, software, text, graphics, and the “Career Launch Group,” “Base Camp,” and “Expedition You” names and logos, is owned by CLG or its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a personal, limited, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for your own educational use.

Third-party data and marks (for example, O*NET information from the U.S. Department of Labor and YouScience®) belong to their respective owners and are used under their applicable licenses or terms.

8. Third-party services

The Service relies on and links to third parties, including our cloud provider (Amazon Web Services), payment processor (Stripe), the O*NET Web Services API, and YouScience for aptitude testing. Your use of a third party may be governed by that party's own terms and privacy policy. We are not responsible for third-party services or content.

YouScience aptitude testing, where used, requires a separate purchase through YouScience and is not included in a CLG subscription.

9. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY CONTENT IS ACCURATE OR RELIABLE.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of the above may not apply to you.

10. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CLG AND ITS OWNERS, EMPLOYEES, AND SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SERVICE OR RELIANCE ON ANY AI OUTPUT.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CLG'S TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID CLG IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (B) USD $100.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CLG from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of a third party.

12. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the Service. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and dispute resolution) will survive.

13. Governing law and dispute resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Subject to the arbitration provision below, the state and federal courts located in Tennessee will have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes not subject to arbitration, and you consent to their jurisdiction.

Informal resolution first: before filing any claim, you agree to contact us at the address below and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days.

Arbitration: except for small-claims matters and claims for injunctive relief, any dispute arising out of these Terms or the Service will be resolved by binding individual arbitration rather than in court, on an individual basis only and not as a class or representative action. Nothing in this section prevents either party from seeking relief in a small-claims court or waives any rights that cannot be waived under applicable law. Where mandatory local law gives a consumer or a minor different rights (for example, in the EU/UK), those rights are not overridden by this section.

14. International users

We operate the Service from the United States. If you use the Service from outside the United States, you are responsible for complying with your local laws, and you consent to the transfer and processing of your information in the United States as described in our Privacy Policy. Where local law grants you additional rights, those rights continue to apply.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
